No Need for Line of Sight

Unlike conventional point-to-multipoint wireless networks, use of multi-hop mesh routing enables CommunityMesh to operate between buildings even where there is no direct line of sight. Network traffic between buildings that are obstructed from each other is routed through neighbouring tConnects. This routing technology allows a CommunityMesh network to be extended over significant distances without worrying about physical or geographical constraints.

Highly Scalable, Self-Healing Mesh Network

CommunityMesh is a mesh network - there is no central access point commonly associated with point-to-multipoint wireless systems with which all nodes must communicate directly. Instead, network traffic takes the path of least resistance over the wireless backhaul to the network gateway, passing through other nodes where line of sight is not possible. If a tConnect is powered down or removed from service, the network automatically reconfigures itself, a process also known as 'self-healing'.
